COQUETDALE LODGE 5122

The Lodge was established in 1929 by members from Morpeth who saw the need for a Lodge in the Coquet Valley community. The nearest lodges were in Wooler, Alnwick, or Morpeth, so Coquetdale Lodge was founded to fill this gap. Initially, the Lodge met in the billiard room of the County Hotel, with Worshipful Brother Hugh Dickie serving as the first Master and 23 founding members. The first candidate initiated was William Bell, a grocer in the village.

By 1931, the membership had grown to around 60 members, prompting the purchase and modification of the Sharps school building to accommodate meetings.
