ABOUT US

Alnwick Masonic Centre is the home to eleven Masonic organisations, including three Craft Lodges and two Royal Arch Chapters. We are on Prudhoe Street, right across from St. Paul's Church.

If you happen to be a Freemason and you're planning to visit Alnwick or the neighbouring areas and want to attend a meeting, check if there's a meeting that suits your schedule on our Calendar Page. If you find one that's convenient for you, kindly contact the secretary of the relevant Lodge/Chapter. You can find their contact details on Our Lodges Page. We assure you of a warm welcome when you attend the meeting.

Apart from catering to Lodge meetings, the hall is also open for public hire for club meetings, parties, weddings, funeral receptions, christenings, quiz nights, fundraising events, etc. We offer a spacious dining/function room with a recently renovated kitchen. We can also open a bar for you if requested when booking.

To book the hall, check the availability on our Calendar Page and use the contact form on the Contact Page to request a booking.

BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES

Freemasons have a long history of supporting their communities through charitable giving and volunteer work. From building homes with Habitat for Humanity to donating blood and volunteering at soup kitchens, Freemasons are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

PROMOTING EDUCATION AND LEARNING

Freemasons understand the importance of education and offer a variety of scholarships and grants to help students pursue their academic goals. They also support libraries and other educational institutions, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to succeed.

UPHOLDING MORAL VALUES

Freemasonry is based on a set of core values, including integrity, charity, and respect for others. These values guide the actions of Freemasons both within the lodge and in their everyday lives. By living these values, Freemasons make the world a more just and compassionate place.

TIMELESS STANDARDS

Integrity | Selflessness | Respect | Brotherhood

Freemasonry is a fraternal and charitable organisation that is non-religious and non-political. It is one of the oldest organisations, tracing its roots to medieval stonemasons who built castles and cathedrals. There are around 4,000 Freemasons in the Province of Northumberland, each belonging to over 135 Craft Lodges that meet in 27 Masonic Halls.

Worldwide, there are six million Freemasons, each with unique reasons for joining. For some, it's about making new friends and acquaintances. For others, it's the ability to contribute to deserving causes and society. However, for most, it is simply an enjoyable hobby. The primary attraction of Freemasonry is that members come from all walks of life and meet as equals, regardless of their race, religion, or position in society.

Our charity

Masonic Charitable Foundation

Giving has always been a fundamental principle of Freemasonry. Freemasons contribute their time and money to help others, whether it be at a local, national or global level. Today, the Freemasons are one of the top charities in the UK, raising over £33 million annually from individual donations and fundraising efforts.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation is a grant-making charity that aims to build better lives by enabling opportunities, advancing healthcare and education, and promoting independence for Freemasons, their families, and the wider community. It is funded entirely through the generosity of Freemasons and their families and is one of the largest organisations of its kind in the country.
